Mesenchymal Stem Cell

Areas of Research

Mesenchymal stem cells are being studied across many areas of medicine, including joint health, inflammation, neurological conditions, cardiovascular health, pulmonary conditions, and tissue repair. The images below provide a simple visual overview of some of the areas currently being researched.

Your Body. Your Pain. Your Decision.

Do your research. Ask questions. Understand your options. Then make the decision that you believe is best for you and your health.

Dr. Neil Riordan

“These MSC’s release a batch of molecules that decrease inflammation, repair tissue damage, and regenerate growth”

Dr Riordan’s mentor, Arnold Caplan, who is truly the godfather of Mesenchymal Stem Cells, and was the scientist who led the way in identifying MSC’s, initially wanted to name them “medicinal stem cells” due to the nature that their “job” inside the body is to repair and regenerate… especially in helping patients recover from spinal cord injuries, heart failure, autoimmune diseases, and debilitating chronic pain.

Every vascular organ of the body has its own specific stem cell, which is supported by a MSC(s) - simply, let’s say you were to cut yourself, the MSC’s literally are released, falling off the blood vessels to stimulate the repair process.

In an organ like the liver, it is supported by far more of a vascular (blood vessels) system which therefore has far more MSC’s… hence, if you were to cut 80% of it out, it still has the ability to regenerate itself back to 100%.
